This year’s Red Bull Soapbox Challenge in London wasn’t just about speed and spectacle — it was a playground for hands-on learning and enrichment activities for 8 apprentices from NC Group and Webs Training. The group of eager apprentices from both ITPs studying engineering and upholstery took the stage, using the event as a vibrant educational platform. Tasked with designing and building their own soapbox and deciding on the Simpsons themed car, these young innovators combined their technical skills with boundless creativity to bring together an amazing race ready car.

Under the guidance of mentors, the apprentices delved into aspects of engineering, design, and teamwork. The project didn’t just stay in the workshop; it raced down the hilly course at Alexander Palace on a fantastic June weekend, showcasing the skills and what a thrilling display of craftsmanship and ingenuity.

“This experience was more than just a race,” said Toby, a NC Group Ltd apprentice. “It was a chance to apply our learning in a fun, real-world scenario.”
